A literal reading of the Bible 's translations of translations and interpretations of translations and manipulations of translations renders nothing sound.
Qualified scholars also believe, from analyzing linguist and narrative forms, that that so-called commandment against homosexuality in Leviticus, was added centuries after the original texts were transcribed, which themselves were written down from centuries of oral traditions.
And, my point was that a black and white, yes or no reading of scripture is meaninglessly rigid and devoid of spiritual and/or intellectual discernment. Add to that the selective literalism and the bald misreading of the texts, and you've poisoned the message.
Refusing to discuss the issue and allowing that poisoning to go unchecked is, in my estimation, more egregious than the poisoning. God gave us reason, intellects, and discernment for a reason.
