A lot of folks still think that way. My dad certainly did. He had a fit when he saw that we let our then 3-year old son have sparkly pink toy flip phone – which he took everywhere. Dad had kittens when he bought him a tough-looking army-branded one and my son cried, heartbroken when dad tried to trade it for the sparkly pink one.
