An important aspect of this issue to highlight, especially given how arts, music, theatre, etc. have been largely stripped from public schools. When my son was in elementary and middle school, they had "art days" or "music days" – not a class devoted to those activities. Even shop has been eliminated from a lot of public high schools. My son never had a shop class.

I had art classes, music studies, and a semester of metal shop in high school. It's sad kids are denied these chances to cultivate a creative talent – especially Black and other minority children who usually have only public school.
