Another pointless party day

With another Memorial Day passed, and scarce mention of the price paid by the heroes the holiday purports to honor — plus our waning memory of the continuing atrocities by Russia in Ukraine — I felt a need to share an old poem I wrote in 2014. This poem was inspired by a song from the band, Five Finger Punch. My poem is primarily in honor of homeless vets. But, it is also in honor of all the warriors forged for death and forgotten by life… forgotten for just another pointless party day.
