Aromas and tastes can instantly transport us to times and places long missed. One of those for me came as a surprise. When we owned a little café many years ago, we stocked a product named "Big Train Chai," a selection of tea latte mixes. One particular variety was the Spiced Chai, a cinnamon and spice blended chai. My first sip of that drink instantly transported me back to Great Gramma Mary's lap on a cold Christmas morning. She always smelled of cream and cinnamon. Drinking it was almost like a warm hug from her reaching out of the recesses of my childhood.
