Because it misses the intention behind their enforcing control over our bodies, and through it over the course of our entire lives. This isn't just about "gestation." Being forced to give birth can mean a woman's or a girl's death. It absolutely means that woman's or girl's entire life is decided by that birth. A baby isn't just delivered and done. A baby is a life journey of parenthood and struggle. Even if the baby is given up, it's a lifetime knowledge that her child is somewhere in the world and all the emotional baggage that goes with that. And, women who miscarry or deliver stillborns will find themselves under investigation for that completely natural event – an event that happens with more than half the fertilized eggs in women; some of those women will also find themselves in prison for being the cause of the loss.

"Forced gestation" is only the science of it from conception to the end of the pregnancy. "Forced birth" is all the ramifications of pregnancy and everything that comes after in the lives of the mother and child – the forever control of women's lives and futures.
