Bullshit. That's our human craving for punative retribution, IME. We want that, but we don't want to accept the blame for it – so, blame God who is love.

Much as it rankles my all too human heart, I believe we'll find ourselves with the likes of Hitler and Trump in whatever Heaven may turn out to be. It's not God who wants to send people to hell – it's us. We would condemn people to forever retribution because agape love is often far from our natures.

God forgives through grace because agape love is God's nature – and, God is love. That's faith. That's God in us.

Everything else is religion – which is mankind removing God as far away from the equation as humanly possible.
