For me, my greatest continuing influence was my Gran. But, my second first grade teacher had a big impact too. After I failed under the first one for not learning to read and write, I was sent to my Gran's to repeat first grade there. She and my Gran taught me a love for reading and writing. By the time I left her class, I was reading fourth and fifth grade books.
