When their miscarriages get investigated as possible abortions, when they’re raped, when they have less access to contraception because that’s “abortion, too,” when they don’t get paid family leave because conservatives didn’t want them to have it, when they can’t afford to miss weeks, or months, of work due to pregnancy, delivery, and caring for an infant, when they can’t afford tens of thousands of dollars in healthcare costs, when they wish conservatives hadn’t blocked universal healthcare “because socialism,” when they can’t afford daycare but also can’t stop working and wish conservatives hadn’t blocked universal childcare, when they’re trapped in abusive relationships and pregnant again, when they face reality, then they’ll realize the “pro-life” movement was just “pro-birth.”
