Go and read the command to the priest in Numbers chapter five. Then, read all the times the Bible says God ordered the deaths of children and women – even pregnant women.

Death came to innocent children of Egypt at the hand of God.

Read again how God saved Jesus as a baby – but all those other baby boys in Bethleham were slaughtered.

The Bible is patently clear that killing is fine if they can claim "God did that" or "God made me do it," including FORCED abortion in Numbers 5. And, God repeatedly does NOT save fetus or babies or children in Bible stories, or in life today.

If God is so clearly against abortion, why do women suffer so many spontaneous abortions? According to the Mayo Clinic, up to 20% of pregnancies end in spontaneous abortion – i.e., miscarriage – before 20 weeks. A much higher percentage is likely lost before women even know they are pregnant.

Just so you know, women will die without medically safe abortions. Women like me who couldn't have another child after my pregnancy went so wrong so fast with the first one. A second pregnancy would have been the death of me, along with any fetus. Women may again be left to die from ectopic pregnancies as did a woman of my mother's generation. Little girls raped and left pregnant will be forced to carry babies their bodies have no hope of delivering. And, women will again have to suffer as my own mother did, carrying a fetus until it was stillborn, even knowing it was already dead weeks before her body finally expelled it. What does your God have to say about women being forced to suffer two days of labor only to deliver a corpse? My God gave us the briliance of medical science and dedicated physicians to save women such suffering My God gave us the empathy and compassion, and the reason and intellect of civil rights warriors who fought for women's right to self-autonomy.
