The party of Steve King, Joe Arpaio, Roy Moore, and this guy… He’s legislating oppression over women’s bodies and opinionating about #ConsensualRape– America’s 21st Century GOP, folks!
Government policy is being made, predicated not on real evidence or science, but upon opinions. Opinions are not even interpretations of facts or knowledge most of the time. The feelings upon which we permit ourselves to form our opinions all too often have little or nothing to do with quantifiable facts (verifiable evidence-based proofs that can be repeated). Our culture has allowed opinions based on feelings to replace understanding and knowledge about women’s bodies and abortion… about women’s fully actualized personhood. We’ve permitted those factless opinions to form the basis of policy.
- Opinions are FEELINGS about a topic.
- Opinions are judgemental and unforgiving.
- Opinions are NOT quantifiable facts nor knowledge.
We’ve come to a cultural dichotomy where opinions do NOT have to be proven. No facts are required for someone to toss out an opinion and expect legislative action and for policy to be predicated on those opinions. The ills of our world are not caused by religion nor ideologies…
