Have you heard of the MAGAs? There is no logic in their opposition to the Biden initiatives – except that the big corporations and the über wealthy hate it, the GOP fears it and their only agenda is to oppose all things Democrat, plus the MAGAs demonize all things Democrat and progressive like the good little brainwashed ninnies the GOP has spent the last 50 years molding them into.
As to the cultural morass, recall that America had the Reconstruction after the Civil War. Then, Jim Crow policies saw around a third of the nation cheering efforts to claw back the rights and liberties of Black Americans. It took the tumultuous Civil Rights Movement to bring down Jim Crow. But, its end saw an unprecedented and sustained progressive evolution in our society. MAGA is trying to claw that back and losing ground now in their attempts.
MAGA shows every sign of fading. The press outnumbered the MAGA supporters outside the court house where Trump was arrested and arraigned yesterday on thirty-four felonies. He practically begged his MAGAs to turn up and they stayed away. Even the MTG rally in the park was far and away outnumbered by the opposition protestors and the press. MAGA is in its death throes. And, now that the damn has broken on indicting former presidents, many more and more serious indictments are likely.
With MAGA's decline, like Jim Crow's, it's not unreasonable to expect another sustained period of progressive evolution. The signs are there if you look for them. And, you'll have to look for them because the media is more interested in the outrage fodder that pays their bills than in the not-newsworthy good news reality unfolding.
You premise is based on fiction comparisons. While good fiction does reflect the real world, it is still fiction and its conclusions are subjective. It is not a foundation for a real world analysis. Fiction is where we find a conclusion, then try to make it fit what we've already decided to believe. In the real world, you have to use the evidence and facts of living, breathing people. Living, breathing people deserve real, lived experiences to be the basis of analysis.
