He is on his way out. I love Cooper and would vote for him again if he hadn't hit his term limit. I'd vote for him for the Senate in a heartbeat. I'd love to see Harrison appoint him as USAG.

However, if he joins the ticket, that will put Robinson in as acting-governor, with a republican majority in the legislature. Robinson is an unmitigated nightmare of a human being. He would be disastrous for NC.

Even if Josh Stein wins in November, he wouldn't be seated until January. As a woman and part of a Middle Eastern immigrant family who has watched Cooper barely hold out against the legislature (and too often seen his veto overturned), the prospect of Robinson in with all the power of the governorship in cahoots with the republican-led legislature for ANY length of time is frankly terrifying.
