Homophobia, racism, xenophobia, misogyny… they’re not only alive and well, the people who cling most vociferously to these bigotries are the ones in power now and are working assiduously to impose their vindictive ignorance on the world.

The only people saying homophobia is in the past are the same people saying racism is over because we elected a Black POTUS — incidentally, the same people driving the whiplash regression being inflicted on our society right now. These reactionary people want to undo marriage equality, roll back gender and sexuality protections, minority voting rights, and even women’s suffrage. They want power only in the hands of the whitest and richest of the rich — and are bent on creating their Dominionist vision of a theocratic corporate feudal state in which everyone else conforms to their socio-political and moral ideal, and where we all are supposed to just shut up and work until we die, entirely on their terms.
