I believe it has helped – at least in America. Protest and our vote are our only real voice in what kind of world we want. It's given us change throughout our history. The country was founded by protest, after all.

Sure, protest hasn't swept away the authoritarians. But, protest has made it obvious that they are minority rule by a pretty small base. The base is only around a third of the populace – and half of them are just die hards who are only ever going to vote republican because they've always done so. Only around half of that third are the GOP's real base.

Protest makes people more aware – as with the deaths of unarmed Black civilians in police custody. And, I think all the protests in 2020 helped push more people to vote. And, they voted against the authoritarian agenda of cruelty.

Remember, in the wake of massive protesting, America voted against the bully and for the boy with the stutter.
