I can honestly say I didn't try very hard when I was young to get to be old. From birth, my health was never great. My kinship environment wasn't great either… bad enough that I wasn't all that eager to keep living the life they laid out before me.

Truth is, I genuinely never expected to make this far. I certainly never expected to get here and love my life with my created family.

Of course, no one told us what a titanic battle getting the most efficacious elder care can be if you're not wealthy. They promised us SS and Medicare would cover it all until Reaganomics decided that was an entitlement instead of something we paid into with every damn penny we earned.
