I can't stand that they hold any power at all. I recently read a breakdown on their supporting demographics. Did you know that they represent an extremely small minority in real world numbers of people? In Congress, the GOP only represents around 19% of the population, in heavily rural states. And, through extreme gerrymandering – like, with surgical precision – they have suppressed the power of liberal and progressive voters to such an extent that they are in power with the support of only around SIX PERCENT of the U.S. national population.

The GOP is bound to a minority on the extreme fringes of our society who are actively and dangerously hostile to democracy.

The GOP power is predicated upon minority rule akin to Saddam Hussein's Bath Party was in Iraq. And, the GOP is forcing the narrow – largely disconnected from reality – mostly white, ultra-conservative, mostly extreme fringe minority's will upon the rest of the moderate and liberal citizens.

That is what I find the most nauseating.
