I disagree that building a ife around one person means expecting them to be the only person in your life. That's not healthy or normal, and it's not love. That's obsession.

I have built my life around my husband for over 30 years. He's built his life around me for the same period of time. We are more in love every year and more committed to each other's happiness and comfort. That doesn't mean we've excluded everyone else from our lives. It means we put each other first in all our planning and hopes. It means we share all our sorrows and toils, triumphs and joys. And yes, we experience the world thinking of how the other does too.
