I do the same thing.

…ing, someone subscribes to get notice of my work, but doesn’t read anything of mine, I ignore them. When I have some extra reading time, which is not often the case these days, I will choose to read something from an author new to me. If I like their writing style, I will then follow them. If they reciprocate, then I might also subscribe to receive notice of their future submissions.
