I do this up to a point. As an unpaid pub editor, it is not my responsibility to make dozens of corrections. I will make around half a dozen. But, if there's more than that, I kick the article back to the author with a note to give it another proof reading or editing pass themselves. This also holds true for formatting requirements for articles pushed to my pub.
