I don't know how to feel about this theme. Your writing, as always, is excellent. But, there must be truth in the world. It's dangerous to imagine truth has no importance. We need truth to perceive the world meanigfully – else, as we're seeing in the MAGA set, we become mired in the madness of alternative facts completely removed from truth.

IME, truth matters and we can't choose facts. We might forget things or evolve beyond something that once had meaning for us – that doesn't change the truth in that something. And, just forgetting doesn't change the facts. What changes is only how we engage with those truths in our current lives.
