I don't think you understand your gift. Even if you never have a relationship with these women, you've given them voice. It doesn't matter that you're not a therapist. It matters that they are able to give voice to their hurts, that someone makes them feel safe to do so – that your gift blessed them that way. Even therapists struggle to give their patients such agency.

I'm sure it's a difficult gift to bear. As an empath myself, I can attest to how other people's hurts will burden our hearts and minds. My own gift is to be able to help carry someone's sorrow for a breath. I can't take away pain, but I can help them hold it for a moment… a space to breathe. It can be crushing to weep someone else's tears. But, I would not deny anyone the comfort of my gift.

You too were made with your gift for a purpose.
