I don't write multiple blogs a day. But, I do read hundreds of pages-worth of stuff a day. And, as I read, I often jot down lines which later become poetry. A series of readings led to my newest poem, "Seconds," which became my most recent blog posted here on Medium a couple of days ago.

I keep a journal open next to me all the time for this very reason. I used to jot lines in the margins of my sketch diary. Those lines were reminders of where I wanted a drawing to go, or what feelings I wanted to get into a drawing. That’s actually how I started writing. I’d always done that. But, a friend of mine was looking through some of my sketch diaries in college and commented on the “poetry” in the margins.

Who knew? I never even realized the lines were forming poetry until she said so. LOL
