I engage on dozens upon dozens of posts per day, reading upwards of an estimated 30K words. The truth is, I read a lot of stuff I wouldn't otherwise, trying to support new members. Much of it doesn't resonate with me. However, I still want those writers to benefit from the full earnings package — it's why I became a FOM.

For instance, I might clap and highlight, then comment on a dozen poems with succinct replies, something like "lovely sentiments" or "great imagery." But, the writers still get that 4x the earnings from my FOM status. My understanding is that payouts are only for the first clap, the first highlight, and the first response (however long or short it may be).

You can drive yourself spare worrying about these things. If it's not costing the writers I read, I prefer not to fret over it.
