I get the "…why don't we eat there for him" thing. When we moved back to NC, with our young son, my grandfather convinced us to introduce him to a "Hardee party" because it's what Gran would do if she wasn't in the nursing home. Grandpa Jack didn't even like Hardees.

But, my mom was someone who never ate healthy. And, she raised me and my three sisters – then later my neice and nephew – on the same deleterious eating habits. I was in my mid-twenties before I began learning better habits. I've always said mother ate like a toddler. But, I never fed my toddler the way she ate as a matter of course – and no mother of toddlers I associated with did either.

LOL – My mother (all my kin, really) thought my son was mistreated because I didn't give him chocolate or soda when we moved to NC. He was three at the time. My kin, of course, all took it upon themselves to slip him chocolate and soda every chance they got.
