I have an 18 year old son, who is a high school senior about to graduate. Even his most conservative friends – and we're in North Carolina, JSYK – are far and away more welcoming of people's differences. He attends a magnate school Health Science Academy with an incredibly diverse student and teacher population.

But, he's also widely connected around the world through his game dev company; they too seem open and welcoming with no consideration of any demographic accept an interest in their game and being decent human beings.

He and his peers give me hopes for a better humanity, even as I fear for the state of the planet we're leaving them.
