I have done. I run a very small, member-specific pub and add the member tags to each post published in our publication. We do not publish often — once or twice a month on average. However, I've had three people leave the group because they did not want to be included in the pub tags. One of them even left the FB forum group for whom the members-only pub exists.

Catch someone on a bad day and that little tag may be the thing that day which is a bridge too far for them. You'll catch their ire. It doesn't do to get worked up over it or try to change their minds. Just remove their tag and wish them well.
