I have no issue with using generics of any prescribed med. But, when a generic option isn't available, insurance companies have no business trying to force an entirely different med on patients. Doctors should never have to fight for a patient's best course of treatment.

That crap kills patients. It's how our Dawny died. The insurance company wouldn't cover specialists until she reached the "failure to thrive" phase. Turned out, for two years, she'd had a hard to diagnose stomach cancer. When she finally saw the specialist, they found advanced stage 4 cancer. There was nothing to be done.
