I have two old watches like that. One belonged to my great grandmother. It was the last watch she ever owned. When she passed, my Gran wore it for years too. I keep it because it was theirs. How could I part with it?

The other watch was a birth gift from Hamid for our anniversary the year Gray was born. He was born on the 17th, and our anniversary is on the 21st. I wore it until the battery gave out. I could probably just replace the battery. However, I don't have a chain for it any longer and the gold-plating has worn off (so it turns my skin green where it lies against my chest). I still cannot part with it. The clock-face sits in a lovely mother and child minimalist sculpture.
