If we’re not willing to call groups like Patriot Front, founded by neo-Nazis who attended the “Unite the Right” rally, “gangs,” then it’s also time to accept that the term “gang” has become just another dog whistle for racists to abuse in broad daylight.

I agree with your essay. Still, I have worse terms for them: These white nationalist and white supremacist groups are terrorist militias and enemy combatants. They're waging war against America.
