I hope you can grow to feel completely safe with your husband.

It took a little time for me. But, I've come to feel completely safe with my husband. That was one of the ways I knew he was the person I wanted to spend my life with – he felt like home. He felt like home with all that sense of security and contentment I'd yearned for.

It took me some time to believe it was real. I still feel less than safe outside his company, though. Alone, there was always a nagging expectation that the unsafe was imminent. These days when I come back to the home we made together, even when he's not there and I'm alone, I feel safe now.
