I know Medium is still the best option. Still, I completely understand people's frustrations. I'm experiencing them myself. It's left me wondering if I'm even a decent writer with all those meta posts saying the key is to be a great writer.

It doesn't help that Medium's only response to my enumerating my issues in an email to them was to send me a form letter telling me essentially to write better. Then, they sent out their form letter email claiming "fraud at scale." I'm having a hard time believing Medium's "fraud at scale" claims and promises that things will return to normal.

I feel like they were shocked by the upturn in partner earnings. It really feels as if they are grasping at any excuse to claw back those meager gains. "Return to normal" how? The new system only tripled my my meager earnings from bumped $50 to around $195.

My point is, it's not like we were suddenly racking up millions. It was still a pittance. But, I was pleased with that pittance. I hadn't even thought much about earnings before the August change. Medium made me pay attention and care about those earnings. Then, they ripped them away. Medium created this discontent. Honestly, I wish they'd left things alone.
