I loathe the man. But, credit where credit is due – he only empowered the racists and bigots. He gave them permission to inflict their bigotry and racism. However, they were always there, hiding in plain sight. They spent the last fifty years infiltrating all the levers of power in this country. I blame them for the rise of Trump. Together, they and Trump are the preverbal snake eating it's own tail.
