I struggled with that case. We want to believe women when they tell us their stories of abuse. But, who do we believe when the woman is as or more abusive than the man she accuses? I have a hard time taking that for abuse as we understand it to mean someone in an unequal power structure being victimized. The little I tried to watch of the testimony, she just didn't come across as the unequal partner. I wouldn't say Johnny Depp was all that unequal either, though it definitely seemed Amber Heard had the upper hand – specifically in going after him when he even hinted at trying to disengage.
