I think more English degrees would be good in general. Whatever field a person ends up in, an English degree can only be beneficial. To earn that degree, they will have learned to do more than just read – they will have learned to discern what they read. And, people who read with discernment are more likely to develop deep compassion and empathy for others, IME.
