I too have purple blood in my veins – it can't be blue, it's been too diluted down the generations. I'm descended from the Scottish clan, the Grahams of Montrose, about ten generations back or so. That line came to Scotland from Greece through France in 210 BC. My direct ancestors include William the Conqueror and there are multiple crossovers of Scottish royalty and nobility. And, yes, one of my ancestors is the Duke of Montrose – of Rob Roy fame.

Before that, the line is spotty, but purports to be descended from an ancestor who may have been a grandfather of Alexander the Great.
