I try to add a synopsis or short essay about the included art or photography with my poems to push it over that 3 minute mark. On other poets' pages, I try to linger even after I've finished their poem because I am aware I read 1.5 to 1.7 times faster than what Medium considers average (gauged on the read time of the robowhine). For example, I'll read a poem, then work on a drawing or painting I have in progress; or, I'll turn to my e-reader and cover a bit of whatever TBR is in progress.
