I used my son's experience and the experience of students he knew to demonstrate my points because those experiences are pertinate to the discussion. I'm sorry you think we should not be permitted to draw upon our personal experiences no matter how cogent or to the point they may be. I am a writer of the school of thougth that writers write what we know.

If you didn't like my response to the author of this piece – and not in any way at all directed to you – you could have just moved on instead of dropping this bit of impertinance at me which is completely divorced from the topic at hand.
