I was advised to become a teacher, a physical therapist, a nurse, a secretary… I was even forced to study "Occupational Education" in high school to shove me toward secretary. Basically, everyone seemed determined that I should be anything but an artist. And, now… most of those same folks hate that I'm a writer. Those who don't openly hate that I'm a writer have views about what I should not write.
