I'd add a big one to the list of what you're getting right: You're there. You're there in his happy-everyday, and I presume will always do your utmost to be there. Kids will forget the little things, like bedtimes or bathtimes, buttoning their shirts cockeyed or putting together some toy oddly, you cheering them on in sports, or something equally mundane. They may not remember the carpool or the walks to the park, all the stuff that's part of their happy-everyday. But, what they will never forget is the times when you were not there… bedtimes, the missed games, school events, birthday parties, etc.
