IDC what they like. It's my house, my money, and they are the invaders – even if I did let them in. Plus, as a woman (or an someone with a foreign accent) as my husband discovered) they'll draw out how long the work takes; juryrig something and try to keep that expensive part; substitute cheaper parts than you agreed to in the written estimate thinking you won't know the difference; undo or break something to add more expense to the bill; or pocket something they find interesting when you're not paying attention.

I've had all those things happen to me or my husband over the years. Granted, most of those occured with cars. And, the theft occurred with my mother's maids. But, it's given me a will to stand my ground in my own home or about my car.
