IDK… to me, it seems especially fraught to export their lunacy to other developing countries. They're not going to go there and sit back in the system in which they find themselves. They're going to influence that system. Think of places like Uganda – their newly minted death penalty for gays is the result of concerted efforts by AMERICAN anti-gay activists in Uganda.

I believe we have to treat the emotional and mental illnesses of hate and fear, of selfishness and greed. We have to address what is broken in our people instead of foisting them off elsewhere. Shipping our problems abroad will only lead to a power base from which those problems will just ricochet back on us.
