I’m Back, Baby!

Ko-Fi donations gave me back my Art

My son was born twenty years ago when our financial situation was pretty good. I quit working to raise him. Then, we had a rough few years. Between 2003 when he was born, and 2007, my art supplies dwindled away. I never thought that situation would stand.

After all, the intent was that I’d go back to work when Gray (our son) was ten or so. Once I was working again, I expected to resupply myself. I hoped to get back to accepting commissioned work.

Unfortunately, I became disabled in that time. Plus, we went through major financial setbacks over several years which saw us sink below the poverty line. Just as we thought we were coming out of the worst of it, I had a major medical crisis in 2018.

In all this, I became an artist without supplies needed to create artisan works of art for fifteen years. Some may not understand why this is tragic to me. Being an artist isn’t just something I do. It is who I am.

It’s the heartbeat and breath of my soul.

Today, I am so pleased to let everyone know that I am back to creating new artworks. I cannot thank my Ko-Fi supporters too much. You have no idea what a gift you’ve bestowed upon me. You gave me back my Art with your generosity.

The Journey Back

Finally… oh my goodness, finally — Hamid found me a really great used drafting table for just $25. We got it set…
