I'm sad to report that still seems to be the case from my own experience married to a Persian. And, the crap I have to watch my not-white-enough half-Persian son go through breaks my heart on the regular. I cannot even begin to grasp what he's feeling any more than I can grasp the pain inflicted upon you by "well-meaning" cruelty by Christian-ish bigots.

There may not be laws against interracial marriages now, but the bigotry persists.
