I'm sure the hard-core MAGA devotees still feel that way. But, there were a lot of conservatives who voted for Trump in 2016 because he was the republican nominee. There were still many in 2020 who voted for him because they always vote republican and will not vote Democrat. Those folks "held their noses" and voted their republican identity. There were also republican identity voters like that who just sat out of the 2020 election because they wouldn't vote republican for Trump.

My hope is that those republican identity voters will be moved by the hearings. They are definitely watching. And, the local reporting sources are laying out the truth as we've not seen since at least 2011, with the rise of the Tea Party conservatives.

This feels different. This feels like a shift, like the story of this insanity is wrapping up, the beginning of an end. I hope it really is.
