In the last couple of months I was pregnant, I took to singing to my son. As soon as he was born, I started reading to him, as well as continuing to sing to him. I also talked to him using correct English instead of talking down to him in baby talk. I kept up a running dialogue for him about what I was doing — like how I was making him all clean and comfy when I changed him.
