It can be really hard not to find ourselves glued to the Internet and social media. I struggle with it myself, but I make myself stick to my rules.

The Internet goes off every single day by 4:30 or 5pm. The rest of the evening is for my family.

If I'm creating artwork, social media is a no-go.

It's the same thing when I'm working on one of my WIPs. I work on my desktop, but the Internet is strictly a resource for writing.

And, I step away from the screen every couple of hours to do anything else – reading, sketching, housekeeping, exercise, tending my plants, or just being still and quiet for a bit.

I try to set aside at least a half hour of stillness and solitude. No computers, no devices, no TV. Not even any music. Just stillness and solitude.
