It does certainly appear so. A hundred years ago, I wouldn't have survived childhood with my constellation of issues. Now, it looks like that window of survivability for kids born like me is rapidly closing – all because the robber barons seem to think they'll be able to bugger off to some new planet when our human ecology is gone.
