It is highly inapproriate to go to someone else's post and ask their respondents to read or follow you. It is also in appropriate try to build relationships outside the context of the original post's content. Your replies to any respondant must always be in the context of the original post. I can fully see how your attempts to lure her readers would offend – it is spam. You are fortunate she didn't report you for spamming – that could have repercussions for your Medium account.

And, even if she had seen your one comment directed to her, it had no content responding to her post. It was a bit of empty praise rather than real engagement.

Furthermore, your posting about this comes off as petty. You were in the wrong. You shouldn't be doing anything but apologizing profusely. End of story. An apology full of excuses why it wasn't necessary entirely negates the apology.
