It was a very scary time. My husband got a vasectomy to protect me after that scare.

But, my son – though five and half weeks early – was healthy and strong. He weighed 6 lbs 15 oz, and was 19 3/4-inches long. He's graduating high school in June, EMT certs in hand, and going immediately to work for our county EMS in an apprentice program. He'll a good salary and the county EMS will pay for him to get his full paramedic training and licensing. With that in hand, he'll be able to pay his way through medical school to become an ER doctor.

It was a scary time. But, it's all worth it.
